Mixed Media TUBES by Tobi

Tobi Crawford loves to play with inks and stamps.  And she loves mixed media projects.  So when she looks at a TUBE from SRM she sees a palette for her artistry.  Here's a mini tutorial to show you what Tobi did.

The TUBE begins clear and clean.

And then Tobi begins to do her magic!  Using her Tim Holtz Distress Paints, Tobi gives the TUBE a wash of color!

She then stamps background images with archival ink.

She seals the paint with Beacon Fast Finish.

And finally Tobi embellishes her TUBE with twine.

And then she starts again with a Tiny TUBE!

After she uses the distress paint, stamps the background and seals it, Tobi embellishes the top of the TUBE with a clear sticker from SRM's Stickers by the Dozen Thank You design and finishes it off with a touch of twine.

What a brilliant way to decorate this pair of SRM Tubes!  Truly a work of art!

Thanks for the inspiration Tobi and for your TUBE tutorial!  If you would like to play with TUBES, see all sizes HERE!  Join us tomorrow for some mini card inspiration from Virginia Lu!

Mothers Day Card by Amy

Amy Crockett loves her Cricut and her SRM Stickers. What a fabulous result putting the two of them together for this Mother's Day card.  Amy used SRM's Mother Quick Card on the banner and outlined the banner with Sticker Stitches. Love the Spring garden she created with her Cricut and the flower box that's trimmed with Buttercream Twine.

That window box looks so real and rustic.  It's a diecut from Amy's Cricut that she stamped with a woodgrain stamp.  What a wonderful contrast with the delicate doily.

Amy used SRM's Sticker Stitches on her card and she also used real stitches around the edges,  How fun to combine the real stitches with the clear Sticker Stitches.   What's your favorite on this sheet of 17 different stitches?

Join us tomorrow when Tobi Crawford inspires us with her mixed media talent.  Her project is a total WOW!

And the WINNER of the Amy Tsuruta Guest Design packet is June Houck who said:
"So much SRM goodness packed in one post! The goodie bags, gift card holder, and cards are great, but my favorite inspiration is the photo card; a wonderful Mother's Day card!!!"

Email your mailing address June and we will send your goodies right along!

Project Life by Jan

Welcome to Project Life Friday where our design team shares their Project Life pages with you. We love the back to basics nature of PL and how SRM Stickers offer so many different options to document your pages from words, to calendars, to numbers.  For almost any theme, SRM has stickers that will work!

Jan Tatomir really enjoys doing Project Life pages as she can pack so much into one layout.  Jan says:  "SRM stickers and Pebbles papers make it so easy!"  She loves how seamlessly the clear stickers melt down onto the photos.

There's so much SRM goodness loaded onto this one page!  Can you spot them all?  Jan used SRM's Mini Calendars, Borders, Sticker Sentiments, Quick Card LUCKY (which just happens to be her cat's name), Everyday Life and just a touch of Sticker Stitches.  And she can make plenty more Project Life pages with her leftover stickers.

Be sure to share your Project Life layouts using SRM Stickers on SRM's Flickr.  We'd love to see your craftiness.

See you next week with lots more inspiration from our amazing design team!

Guest Designer; Amy Tsuruta

So excited to welcome Amy Tsuruta as our guest designer of the week! You are in for a treat!   Amy is a prolific crafter who just happens to love SRM.  We like that! :)  And we love what she does with her SRM!

Here's a bit about Amy in her own words.

Hi ya! It's Amy Tsuruta and I live in the gorgeous state of Washington! I'm a happy momma of 2 beautiful kids that are 15 & 18 years old. I'm also engaged to thee most fantabulous man who supports my paper crafting. I work full time for a design firm in Seattle so I generally do all my crafting on the weekends. The early morning hours are usually spent being inspired by the many blogs that I follow.

I've been a long time fan of SRM...love seeing how SRM has grown and now carries a such a fun assortment of products! I've contributed 129 pictures to the SRM Flickr Gallery...yup, I love my SRM :)  I adore the various fonts and sentiments that SRM carries. There is something for any and all occasions!

Let's take a look at her creations!

Amy's first project is a card for her Mom for Mother's Day featuring a photo of Amy and her 2 brothers taken back in the '70's.  Everything is nestled onto a frosted acetate card base.  Amy says "I love how the SRM sticker doesn't interrupt the flow of the design".  On this card Amy used Amy Tangerine Yes, Please paper, SRM's Bright Border and Twinery Lilac twine.

In addition to a card for Mother's Day, Amy also created a little gift of a Starbucks gift card and tucked it into this SRM clear Pillow Box all crafted up with stamped images, lots of washi tape and a SRM sentiment.  The Pillow Box not only has a gift card but 4 handcrafted tags all topped off with twine and enclosed in a Glassine Bag!

Next up is another SRM Glassine Bag this time used as a gift bag. Amy loves using them for little treats or RAKs. She l loves to pile goodies inside like washi tape, adhere a SRM label with a sentiment and then run it through her sewing machine. It makes a little surprise that much more fun!

And Amy LOVES using dimensional embellishments on her cards. She thinks that "the wooden embellies that I love to use were made for SRM stickers! The daisy from the Stickers by the Dozen is a perfect match! I love the SRM fonts, so clean & crisp!"

For her last project Amy created this card in celebration of Spring. She loaded up one of the SRM glassine bags with die cuts and adhered it to the front. The Spring sentiment is perfect on the Labels by the Dozen.  And did you notice the ric rac? That's from SRM's We've Got Your Border Pastel! Amy picked the "be happy!" mini sentiments to run along the bottom of the card.

Thank you Amy for so many fun and fabulous projects.  If you would like to receive a prize packet that includes the SRM products Amy used in her projects just leave a comment and keep your fingers crossed.  We'll announce the winner on Monday's blog.

Made with Love by Michelle

Michelle Bertuzzi loves to bake cookies and give them to friends.  And she loves to include the recipe just in case they like them and want to try the recipe themselves.  What a great idea!

Michelle put her baked cookies into a large SRM Glassine bag, made a topper to close the bag and then added a ribbon, a " {mmm...} cooking sticker and sealed the bag with a Made By Label.

Here's a close up of the front of the treat bag. Love the delicate border at the bottom of the topper.

On the back, I love how Michelle tucked the recipe inside the ribbon and added some stickers as decorations top and bottom.

The Made By Labels by the Dozen are perfect for packaging baked goods.

Here are all of the SRM products that Michelle used on her project.

Thanks Michelle for this yummy idea!

Join us tomorrow for a very special Guest Designer and a GIVEAWAY!  Who could it be?

Mother's Day by Nina

Nina Brackett created a lovely pair of Mother's Day cards in her signature style of drop dead gorgeous!  Digging into her stash of SRM Stickers, including the Mother Quick Card, Mother Express Yourself and some Sticker Stitches, Nina added some lace, bling and a flower to her creation.  The Gold Shimmer Twinery™ twine is the perfect finishing touch!

Changing up the papers on the second card, Nina used the flower image from her Quick Card and dropped some delicate pearls into their centers.  Lace, ribbon, a little flower and some herringone "stitching" from SRM's Sticker Stitches complete her card.  Don't those stitches look real?  Shhh...don't tell anyone, it's just a clear sticker.  You don't have to get out your sewing machine for this one!

Quick Cards are super simple to use and come in designs for all seasons and many reasons.  See all 36 designs of Quick Cards HERE!

Thank you Nina for a pair of beautiful cards and all the inspiration!

To Do Calendar by Tobi

Tobi Crawford keeps very busy with Design Team assignments from the various teams that she's on.  She decided to use a SRM 8 x 8 Calendar to create a "To Do" Calendar to keep track of things on paper rather than in her head.  I love the results.

Tobi's "To Do" 2013 calendar starts in April.  This kind of calendar can begin anytime.  Tobi used SRM's Year of Memories 2013 sticker on her cover and added lots of fun images and words.  Tobi is so talented.  Even her cover is a work of art!

I adore the way that Tobi decorated the inside of her Calendar too.  She used her stamps and stickers and added some fabric for texture.  SRM's zig zag Sticker Stitches are the perfect touch and look so real!

Tobi used SRM's Large Snappy Months and Small Calendar Numbers on the bottom of her calendar.  She's entered the due dates for her different teams and color coded each team.  What a great idea for a such a busy crafter!

See all the calendar products from SRM here!

Really love these clever projects, and the wonderful ways they showcase the SRM stickers. I especially love the sticker-topped fabric treat jars, with those "it's the little things" tags...and I love love the lemon/doily-topped glassine!

Project Life by Corrie

Welcome to Project Life Friday!  Our design team members love using SRM Stickers on their Project life pages.  They are just perfect!

As you well know, Corrie Jones is a layout expert extraordinaire! Her layouts ususally have 1 photo with lots of artistic elements and embellishments.    However, sometimes Corrie likes to use Project Life as it is perfect for documenting an event with multiple photos and lots of journaling.  So with this in mind, she decided that a Project Life 2 page spread to tell about her recent birthday weekend was just the ticket!

Corrie says "SRM stickers make putting these pages together so simple and so much fun!".

SRM Stickers & Project Life work so well together. Here's a list of the SRM Stickers Corrie used on her pages.   All are available in the SRM Store:

We've Got Your Border Bright
We've Got Your Sticker Happy and Sweet
Express Yourself Recipes, Mother, New Years, Everyday Girl
Year of Memories 2013

We'd love to see your Project Life pages using SRM Stickers.  Simply post them to our Flickr page and you might just find yourself in the spotlight on our Facebook!

Guest Designer; Michele Kovack

What a treat to welcome Michele Kovack back to the SRM Blog today as our Guest Designer of the week.  Michele is a paper crafter extraordinaire.  She is crazy for her Cricut and we love it when she takes her SRM Stickers, TUBES, Twine and Glassine Bags along for the ride!

Here's how Michele describes herself:

"Hi! My name is Michele Kovack and I am thrilled to be guest designing for SRM Stickers! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  I am a wife of almost 20 years to my high school sweetheart, Brian.  He is my biggest cheer leader and supporter of me and this crazy hobby!  I am a mother to two teenagers, Cortney 18, and Kyle 16. I also teach 5th grade and have been with the same school district for the last 18 years. I love my "day job!"   I have two dogs, Myla and Skippers.  Both were rescued, one from a mill, and the other from a local animal shelter.

I started scrapbooking right after the birth of my daughter, Cortney.  She was born with severe mental and physical challenges.  It became a way for me to heal and focus on the things she could do. (I thought it would be cheaper than therapy.....but maybe I was wrong? ;)  When my son was born two years later, I was up to my eyeballs with craft supplies, and card making was a natural progression for me. I discovered blogging in 2006 and was immediately hooked! My blog,"Thoughts of a Cardmaking Scrapbooker!" became a place to share my projects, family, and connect with other people who had the same interests.

And here's what Michele says about SRM Stickers.

I discovered SRM stickers several years ago and loved how easy they were to use. They became a staple in my craft stash. I've also been lucky enough to meet Susan in person, and she is as sweet as can be!  When I was invited to guest design, I immediately jumped at the chance!"

For her projects Michele chose beautiful vibrant colors with the look and feel of Spring!  First up is a die cut Thank You card that Michele made using a Silhouette cut.  For the sentiment, Michele uses SRM's Stickers by the Dozen Thank You.  Love how this card shimmers and shines!

Keeping in the bold and vibrant pinks and yellows, Michele created a fabulous treat bag using one of SRM's Glassine Bags, creating the lemon wedges using her Cricut.  Love the glitter on the lemon and how Michele trimmed a daisy sticker and added glitter to the center.  The "you make me smile" sentiment is from SRM's new Bright Borders.  And the twine is The Twinery's Pink Sorbet

Michele created this sweet trio of little treat jars filled with candies using Spring colors that are just a bit more muted. She decorated them with felt flowers, a touch of color coordinated twine and little banner with a sentiment from SRM's Pastel Borders.

Then covered the tops with fabric and added SRM daisy Stickers by the Dozen with color coordinated centers.  How totally delicious!

Thank you Michele for inspiring us with your beautiful creations.
Be inspired by Michele on a regular basis on her blog Thoughts of a Cardmaking Scrapbooker!  And be sure to leave a comment here on the blog for a chance to WIN all of the SRM products that Michele used in her projects today.

Happy Day TUBES by Virginia

Leave it to Virginia Lu to create hand-made flowers out of coffee filters to match the colors of her SRM Sticker Borders!  Brilliant!  Virginia used Spellbinders Scalloped Circle dies, inked them to this vibrant color and diecut the flowers after the coffee filters became dry!

Using SRM's Labels by the Dozen Pastel, Birthday Borders, Standard 7" TUBES and Marigold Twinery™ twine, Virginia decorated her TUBES from top to bottom, filled them with bath salts and created a perfect little gift.

What a great idea!  Do you ever think that you can get too much inspiration?  I don't think so!

Be sure to join us tomorrow for a very special guest designer, Michele Kovack. You will be dazzled by her happy projects! We love our Guest Designer Thursdays and remember there's always a GIVEAWAY!

Here's a card using a Spellbinder's Die (Labels 22) and some "happy birthday to you" mini sentiments from SRM's Birthday Stickers by the Dozen. Liz adds one of her beautiful ribbon bows, some bling and a flower and she's done!

Class of 2013 Frame by Jan

Jan Tatomir used 2 boxes of good old #2's and one SRM Class of 2013 pencils to make this fun photo frame for her son's graduation this spring.

Jan bought an unfinished wood frame at her local craft store and using Crafter's Pick The Ultimate glue, which she considers to be "awesome stuff",  she adhered the pencils to the frame.  Her neighbor used one of his fancy saws to straighten out the edges for her.  Now that's amazing!

Jan added a mini border sentiment from the Graduation Stickers by the Dozen sheet to a piece of white ribbon and adhered it around the entire frame.
How totally fun!

And the WINNER of last week's Guest Designer prize packet is Ange who commented on Julie Campbell's creations, "Adorable projects! What a great gift set."  Email us your mailing address to susan@srmpress.com and you will be able to create your own projects using SRM!

Guest Designer; Julie Campbell

Please welcome Guest Designer, Julie Campbell!  What a treat to have this super talented crafter join us on the blog today!

I'm a 30-something mom to two energetic boys, married to one pretty awesome guy. We live in an old farm house in rural Indiana, where we see almost as many tractors pass by as cars.

I work part-time as an operating room nurse at a pediatric hospital, but I’d rather be stitching on paper than people.  Being creative energizes my spirit & I love the instant gratification that card making brings.  When I have extra time, I love creating Project Life-style albums & mini books of our family.

You can find some of my projects on my blog.  I’m also on the Creative Team for Studio Calico & a Garden Girl for Two Peas In a Bucket.

We are thrilled to showcase Julie's wonderful work with SRM Stickers and Clear Pillow Boxes, her Copics and just a touch of twine!   First up is this beautiful homespun card using a crocheted piece that Julie had in her stash.  She mounted a SRM Stickers by the Dozen wedding image onto a Black & White Labels by the Dozen to make the flowers stand out. Then she colored the roses with her Copics.  Check out the little black and white scalloped border at the bottom from SRM's Wedding Borders.  And Julie tops off her card with some charcoal twine from The Twinery!  YUM!

Next Julie created this delicious clear pillow box adding texture with burlap and twine.  She created a tag using a new Made By Labels by the Dozen.  And notice the little "stitching" on the box?  That's from SRM's new Sticker Stitches.  Such a fun product with 17 different stitches from which to choose!

So put them both together, add some homemade cookies to the box and you have a perfect little thank you or gift for a neighbor.

Here's what Julie has to say about working with SRM Sticker products:

"I love working with SRM stickers.  I was so surprised the first time that I used them.  The edges of the stickers just “melted” onto the paper, making it hard to tell that I had used a sticker at all!  I especially love the border stickers.  They come in so many fun colors & designs."

In celebration of Julie's guest spot here at SRM Stickers, we'd like to host a GIVEAWAY!  Leave a comment on this post (make sure you're a follower first!) and we'll choose a winner to receive a prize packet that includes all of the SRM products that Julie used in her projects including pillow boxes, Stickers by the Dozen, Labels by the Dozen, Sticker Stitches and Twine!
