Cards by Kathy

Our Designer, Kathy Racoosin, is such a talented card maker. She does sophisticated as well as she does cute, as well as she does vintage, you get the idea. Today Kathy shows us her vibrant, adorable side with a group of cards that will surely make you smile...

Last, but not least, Kathy has a bold and fun card using our new 'We've Got Your Sticker' set, "hello". Don't you love the super-sized greeting?!

*sigh* I love card feature days. :) In fact, I have another card for you tomorrow, created by me! I'll be posting a sneak peek of what we have in store for World Card Making Day.

Kick, Shoot, Goal!

Happy Monday! Thanks for checking in with us today. You'll be glad you did because I have a very cool card to show...it's a thank you card that SRM Designer, Carole, created for her daughter's soccer coach. Talk about the perfect stickers for the occasion! Click HERE to view these in our online store to purchase.

I love how Carole allowed several elements to 'fall off' the edges of the card. She accommodated them by using a larger envelope. Carole designed the cards using her daughter's team colors.

More cards are up tomorrow...see you then!

Beautiful Bouquet, a Tutorial by Norma

Hello SRM Stickers Readers...I have an extraordinary treat for all of us today, a flower bouquet tutorial by Norma Kennedy. Norma used SRM Stickers and Cosmo Cricket papers to create a beautiful altered piece, her specialty. Enjoy!

bou·quet (bō-kāˈ, bo͞o-), posey, nosegay
noun
A small cluster or arrangement of flowers.
An arrangement of flowers that is usually given as a present.
The fragrance typical of a wine or liqueur. See Synonyms at fragrance.
Origin: French, from Old French bosquet, thicket, diminutive of bosc, forest, of Germanic origin.

Remember, if you use any of our tutorials, feel free to email me with photos -- I'd be happy to share what you've created! Have a terrific weekend. I'll be back on Monday with more new SRM all week long, including a sneak peek of what we have in store for World Card Making Day in October.

Sentiment Strip Techniques

Tobi spent some time experiementing with the long stickers strips found on our Sticker Sentiments sheets (click on image to view/purchase);

Tobi said that she usually just trims the sentiments to use individually, but discovered that it's fun to play around with the WHOLE sticker... She has a few techniques to share with us today.

1) Adhere the sticker to a piece of cardstock and layer it over a piece of wide ribbon. I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots on the back of the cardstock strip, it's a good adhesive for popping items on non-paper materials.

2) Make a curly sentiment! Adhere the entire sticker to a long piece of cardstock. Curl the cardstock around a pencil. Lay down a strip of adhesive and press your curled sentiment onto the glue strip.

3) Stick the sentiment on a piece of paper then cover it with crackle accents (similar to glossy accents, except it cracks a little).

I don't know about you, but I have my SRM Sticker Sentiments out and I'm ready to try Tobi's techniques. If you give them a go, email me with pics so I can share with our readers! See you tomorrow!

Distressed Sticker

I have a quick and fabulous sticker technique for you today. SRM Designer, Tanis, happened upon this effect when one of her stickers got stuck to another. She liked how ink transferred onto the other sticker, giving it a distressed look! Tanis will be providing a step by step tutorial on distressing SRM Stickers but in the meantime, here's a sneak peek!

You MUST stop by tomorrow for a tutorial by Tobi. That's all I'm going to say. It rocks.

Guest Designer, Tessa Buys!

I am so thrilled to introduce you to Tessa Buys, our newest Guest Designer! She's an incredibly talented card maker and we were so excited to see what she'd do with new SRM Stickers.

Firstly, a bit aobut Tessa; "I am a happy mother to three energetic, wonderful boys and wife to an amazing, supportive husband. I began scrapbooking and cardmaking in high school and became seriously addicted when we started our little family. I love preserving family history with layouts, creating things for my home and children, and being able to give personalized, handmade cards to my loved ones and friends. When I am not scrapbooking or creating for my Etsy shop, Precocious Paper, I am choreographing and teaching as a professional dancer and actively serving in my church. I'm thrilled to be guest designing for SRM Stickers and am an SRM Sticker addict for life!"

You can check out Tessa's work by visiting her Blog, Percocious Paper, her Etsy Shop, or her Facebook Page.

Here's what Tessa had to say about her experience working with SRM Stickers: "I first found SRM Stickers in my local craft store here in itty bitty Riverton, Wyoming. I was ecstatic to find something so perfect for cardmaking, and as I played, I realized the possibilities for layouts, too. I love the ease of use, the quality of the stickers, the variety of designs, and the special touch that SRM Stickers lends to every one of my projects."

I adore this matching game Tessa created for her boys using SRM Stickers, patterned paper, and a repurposed tin:

This simply elegant card is so refreshing...wouldn't it make a wonderful sketch?

This is a fabulous card and I love the glittery snowflake, a perfect complement to our new Winter sticker sentiment.

Lastly a Holloween card -- *swoon*!

Thank you, Tessa, beautiful work! Please join me tomorrow for more new SRM and the announcement of our winners from last week's Cosmo Cricket festivities!
